El Rio showed some fair form in bumpers and over hurdles but is already proving to be a far better chaser and fences seemed to have improved him this winter. He won at Huntingdon and Sandown prior to arguably running his best race when 3rd at Kempton over Christmas. The form of that race has worked out well with the winner winning again next time out. The handicapper has left El Rio on the same mark of 128 and he looks to have the scope to improve beyond it. He should enjoy today's track and distance and has ran well in similar conditions before and looks sure to run a solid race. El Rio rates a 4 star each way Pick.
