Eldorado Allen might be entering the twilight of his racing career but he looks a horse that could have a touch of class in today's handicap contest. He was running in the Grand National at this meeting last season of a mark of 153 and went well in the race for a long way, eventually fading to finish 20th of 32. His handicap mark has since declined after a number of inconsistent efforts and gets into today's race off 145. Given a short break he could well be the type of horse to bounce back no racing over the Grand National fences and back on better ground. The distance of 2m5f is likely to be on the short side for Eldorado Allen, however they can often go a strong pace in this race and that will suit him well. Eldorado Allen rates a 4 star each way Pick.

Celtic Dino is a lightly raced novice who may well have got into today's race off a favourable mark of 132. He was last seen running in grade 2 company at Kempton where he finished a respectable 3rd of 7, not seeing the race out after pulling hard. Prior to that he was 4th in a grade 1 at this track in December. Now back on better ground over a distance that should suit him well, Celtic Dino might be able to make most of the running and be a hard horse to peg back late on. Celtic Dino rates a 4 star each way Pick.

Jack Hyde is a lightly raced novice at the age of 7 having had only seven career starts under rules. He has taken his time over hurdles this season but is slowly getting the hang of things. Jack Hyde won at Southwell two runs back over 2m and then followed that up with a win at the same track over 2m4f. In both races he did not fully settle but was still strong at the finish, suggesting there could well be more to come. He should get plenty of cover today and a nice strong pace to aim at too. Providing the hustle and bustle of this kind of race is not too much for him at this stage of his career, he should go really close off his current handicap mark. Jack Hyde rates a 4 star each way Pick.
