Forged Well has been a consistent sort in the main for his connections but has elevated his form since returning to action this season. He backed up a good 3rd over an inadequate 2m1f distance at Carlisle with a victory at Kelso over 2m5f. He got the better of a ding-dong battle that day and won by only a neck. On his next start at the same track he was unable to peg back a horse that got first run on him but did well to finish 2nd. Forged Well looks a horse that should improve now being stepped up to 3m for the first time and off his current handicap mark of 113 there could well be more to come for the 6-year old. Forged Well rates a 4 star each way Pick.
