The last time Batchelor Boy was rated below the 60 mark he won at Brighton and now after a few moderate efforts he finds himself looking very well handicapped off a mark of 59. It's easy to excuse his latest effort at Brighton where it looked like he didn't stay the 7f that day and now back down in distance to 5f and from the perfect draw in stall 1 he seems to have a lot going for him. Connections have taken the step to book Oisin Murphy for the ride and that could well be a sign of intent. It would be no surprise to see Batchelor Boy blast out and make all the running today.
