Shoeshine Boy has been a grand servant to connections and was a in great form around this time last year which included a win in this very race. He has shown fair form this season and perhaps found higher handicap marks against him on recent outings. However he has slipped back to a decent mark and it would be no surprise were connections to have had this race as one of his season targets. Shoeshine Boy is a dual track and distance winner and clearly goes well here and with Craig Nichol taking over from a 7lb apprentice he should run another big race at the Ayrshire track. Shoeshine Boy rates a 4 star each way Pick.
