Lallygag had decent form in bumpers but has taken that to another level in his first season hurdling. Two wins at Exeter and one at Taunton sandwiched between some decent place efforts beaten by some good horses gives a solid look to his overall form. On his last start he was 3rd in a novices listed race behind Luccia, who has gone onto to run well at Cheltenham and Aintree. Given a couple of months off since, Lallygag could be fresh and ready for today's race. The step up in trip to 2m4f looks likely to suit him well and his current mark of 132 looks workable. The dogs were barking before Canberra Legend's debut run at Newcastle in February. The son of Australia started an 8-11 favourite and won easily by 3 1/2l. That race appeared to have a couple of promising types in it, but the manner of Canberra Legend's success marked him down as a horse to follow this season. He is now pitched into listed company, however the straight 1m1f on a galloping track such as Newmarket looks certain to suit and he can be involved at the finish. Canberra Legend rates a 1 star each way Pick.
