An excellent day's Racing with the Irish Oaks at the Curragh and excellent cards at Newbury and Market Rasen too. Here are the thoughts of our Racing Factors tipster.

Alyanaabi's last 3 runs have come in Group 1 company, so he takes a big step down in class today and might have been found a good opportunity to get back into the winning groove. He finished 2nd in the Dewhurst Stakes last year and has come back with a good 5th in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket (connections felt might have come too soon) and 5th in the St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. He is now stepped up in distance to 1m2f for the first time and looks like he should get the extra 2f well. It may well be that Alyanaabi has too much class for his rivals today. Alyanaabi rates a 5 star win Pick.

Kyle Of Lochalsh showed some very progressive handicap form last season and having had a pipe opener at Newcastle in March, he made no mistake next time out at Salisbury over 1m6f on soft ground. He powered clear of his rivals that day to win by 6 1/2 lengths. Off the back of that win he was sent to Royal Ascot and acquitted himself with great credit to finish 3rd of 20 over 2m4f. He came from a poor position that day to finish his race off well. Now back on slightly softer ground and over 2m on a big galloping track such as Newbury ( has won here on his only start last July) he looks to have plenty going for him. Kyle Of Lochalsh rates a 4 star win Pick.
