Absurde was a good winner of the County Hurdle at Cheltenham lat season and after a very good spell on the flat (win at Chester and 5th in Melbourne Cup) returned to Cheltenham to defend his crown. He was a little further back than ideal but ran a cracker to finish 3rd of 16 that day. Nudged up a further 2lbs for today's contest he might just have too much class for his rivals. Absurde has a high cruising speed and has flat speed acceleration, attributes that will suit him well around today's tight turning track and faster ground conditions. Absurde rates a 5 star win Pick.
