Gracious Leader showed average form in a trio of novice and maiden races over 7f and this well bred son of Siyouni whose dam raced at Group 1 level, was given an opening handicap mark of 64. Connections decided to geld him in the summer and that move looked to have worked well when he won very easily at Lingfield last month over 1m. Gracious Leader settled much better that day and when asked for his effort showed a smart turn of foot to win going away. Now up to a mark of 72 there still looks like there is plenty more to come from this lightly raced sort and he could well be the type to rack up a sequence of wins before the handicaper catches up with him.
