VERDICT: Point-to-point winner Jomig Des Bois produced a better effort to finish second over an extended 2m3f here last month and is an interesting contender on his handicap debut, taking a step up in trip. However, Champetre finished third in a stronger event at Warwick when last seen and may appreciate this slight drop in distance. The seven-year-old races off a 1lb lower rating and looks the one to beat. Fresh Speculation is another to note.
