ANALYSIS: Took keen hold, chased leaders, steadied after 2f, headway on outside over 2f out, edged left from and led over 1f out, over 2 lengths clear inside final furlong and pushed along, reduced lead towards finish

ANALYSIS: Held up in touch, effort over 2f out, not much room over 1f out, soon switched right, hanging badly left and went 2nd inside final furlong, stayed on, just held

    Jack Doughty

    Age 6

    nose
ANALYSIS: Awkward start, soon in touch, lost place on inside over 8f out, not much room briefly over 2f out, some headway over 1f out but no threat
  • 7th
    3 (4)
    Laura Pearson

    Age 7 H TT

    6 1/2 L
ANALYSIS: Slowly into stride, in rear, hood became misplaced after about 1f and slowed markedly, rider quick to take hood off but started racing keenly after, closed to lead over 8f out, headed over 2f out, soon weakened
VERDICT: Slowdownbarney had plenty in hand when winning over C&D 12 days ago and the Irish raider is very hard to oppose, despite a 7lb rise. Moon Over The Sea also scored over this track and trip on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Grand Duchess Olga and Black Smoke should not be discounted.
