VERDICT: Westmorian has returned from a lengthy layoff a rejuvenated sprinter. He landed a double in fine style at Southwell last month and Grant Tuer's inmate can defy a hike in the weights if translating that solid form over to the Polytrack. The progressive Pals Battalion has been in fine fettle at Newcastle, though today's high draw has done him no favours, and Silky Wilkie may prove a bigger threat based on his second in a competitive sprint here in February. Sommelier is not out of it either.
