VERDICT: In a small but competitive field, it might pay to side with the Andre Fabre-trained Avide (4), who won nicely on his debut last November, in a race that has produced several winners. He is marginally preferred over Piquoiseau (2), who won by over two lengths on his sole start at Bordeaux Le Bouscat in late October and looks a nice prospect. Midak (1) scored on debut on the PSF last month and warrants respect, with improvement expected on turf.
