VERDICT: A competitive sprint in which only a tentative vote can be afforded to Grant Wood. Down the field in the Ayr Silver Cup in September, Paul Midgley's charge returned to action with a creditable second at Wolverhampton last month and is a real player off the same mark, especially given his favourable draw. Monks Dream was on target over 5f here last month and although 6lb higher, should appreciate a return to further. Solar Aclaim found steady progress in handicaps last season and he catches the eye back from a break, while others to note include Jungle Land and William Dewhirst.
