VERDICT: Cosmic Year is prominent in the betting market for next month's 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and is difficult to oppose on his reappearance. The son of Kingman trounced his rivals over 7f at Sandown in September and this should set him up nicely for a tilt at the big one. Honved failed to confirm the promise of his debut second at Wolverhampton when disappointing at Doncaster, so newcomers National Park and Hit Squad could prove bigger threats.
