VERDICT: Marcan (3) returned to form with a solid second at Cagnes-Sur-Mer in mid-January in a Class 4 handicap and looks fairly treated at present. He is preferred to Alpengeist (13), who ran a decent second at Chantilly two starts back in similar company. Maranado (10) is well-drawn and races off a competitive mark, making him a strong contender for the frame. Polminhac (6), a previous course and distance winner, is well handicapped and also merits consideration.
