VERDICT: Both of Joe Soma's runners at the meeting line up in this race with genuine winning credentials. Hard-knocker Avoontoast wouldn't be winning out of turn after back-to-back recent 2nds, so she is preferred to progressive 3yo stablemate Serrano who blotted his copybook last time out but had legitimate excuses. Fellow sophomores Peace Treaty and Tintamarre are closely matched on the form of a recent 1450m Vaal Classic meeting - both have the means to play a role in the outcome.
