VERDICT: Nice race to start with, a 2400m marathon and it will be interesting to see what tactics will be utilised by the riders. Past And Present has gate No 1 and has finished ahead of stablemate War Hawk. His form is decent and if he gets the trip he can shed his maiden tag. War Hawk has been gelded and can make more improvement especially as he should relish the extra. Wood World has the highest merit rating and is holding form well. If he sees it out, he could assert his authority. Ariovistus must be better than his last effort. He should prefer the trip on pedigree.
