VERDICT: Brinton maintained her excellent level of consistency when occupying the runner-up berth at Wolverhampton last week, finishing a position and more than a length ahead of Danehill Star. She tackles a mile and a quarter for the first time, but her reliability earns her the nod. Venus Slipper broke her duck with a C&D triumph in handicap company so should be a force at this level. Laurentia also slips down into a classified event, on the back of a close-up Chelmsford second.
