VERDICT: The Defiant touched off Wedgewood by the narrowest of margins when scoring over this C&D earlier in the month and they could fight it out again here. The former has subsequently finished a well-held third in a higher grade and, only 1lb worse off with the latter now dropped back in class, Luke Dace's gelding is fancied to edge out his reopposing rival again. Phoenix Beach is only 2lb higher than his track-and-trip victory two starts ago and he could mount another bold bid, while Level Up is slipping back to a fair mark.
