VERDICT: The three horses drawn nearest to the stands-side rail could be the ones to focus on, with Code Purple narrowly preferred over course specialists Cusack and Pallas Lord. As a previous C&D winner, the selection reverts to the Flat over an ideal trip and rekindles the partnership with Paul Mulrennan from a still-workable mark at this level. The aforementioned Cusack is feared most with the drop back in trip a potential source of improvement.
