VERDICT: Lawrenny found only a potentially useful sort too good when second in a deeper race over 2m at Sandown last month and, eased in grade having gone well over C&D before that, he gets the vote to return to winning ways. Smokeringinthedark did it well when scoring over 2m4f at Musselburgh on his penultimate start and he could run well, for all that he will need to bounce back from a low-key effort over 3m most recently. Cruden is also noteworthy.
