VERDICT: Some Scope finished an excellent second in this contest last year and he gets the vote to go one place better off 2lb higher this time. Richard Hobson's seven-year-old scored with more in hand than the winning margin suggests over 3m at Wetherby in December, before being pulled up over an inadequate 2m4f at Cheltenham last time out. Stepping back up in trip off 3lb higher than his last winning mark, a bold bid is on the cards. Hymac finished a gallant second behind a useful sort over this trip at Newbury when last seen and he commands respect off an unchanged mark, while recent course winner Weveallbeencaught completes the shortlist.
