VERDICT: Joe Cotton has filled the runner-up spot on each of his last four starts, most recently in heavy conditions at Lingfield. With Chad Bament claiming a handy 7lb this time around, he may prove tough to beat. Smart Casual failed to justify favouritism when only third over 2m1f at Plumpton last time but this step up in trip could unlock some improvement. Rangatira Jack takes a drop in grade and is another to watch out for.
