VERDICT: Saint Etienne (4) can be forgiven for the last 11th place run and judged on solid earlier form. He finished 2nd in his penultimate start which was over 1900m at Chantilly in a competitive Handicap and was a winner before that. He is the first selection. Forever Given (9) has placed eight times from nine starts and should get it all right soon. Strong each way claims. Kovel (1) is one for the shortlist and has a huge place chance. Gant (6) must be respected and included for all bets and should make the presence felt.
