VERDICT: Shearer came home in splendid isolation on his comeback to complete a hat-trick at Ffos Las 12 days ago and the nine-year-old clearly retains plenty of ability. Although a quick turnaround after that return from a 601-day absence is a concern, the son of Flemensfirth holds outstanding claims again. Reopposing rival Acey Milan unseated his rider at the opening fence on that occasion, but he's could serve the most resistance to the selection if over that mishap.
