  • 8th
    2 (4)
    Ryan Kavanagh

    Age 5

    1 3/4 L
ANALYSIS: Wore hood to post, took keen hold, disputed lead, headed over 3f out, ridden along 2f out, no extra and weakened over 1f out
VERDICT: Finn Russell had English Spirit (seventh) well behind when successful over C&D in December before hitting the crossbar here last month. Ian Williams' five-year-old might only need to reproduce either of those displays in order to make it two wins from his last three starts. English Spirit put in a better effort to fill the runner-up spot over track and trip latest and could get closer to the selection on this occasion. Paradoxical sports first-time cheekpieces and is another to note.
