VERDICT: It was hard not to be impressed by Flash Gorcombe's 16-length success over track and trip on New Year's Day. Robert Walford's eight-year-old is only 9lb higher for that triumph and can complete a double. Looking For Larry also struck in easy style over the smaller obstacles on the same card that day and provided he can transfer that form to fences, he could have a say. Valirann Gold is another to keep an eye on after his second here last month.
