VERDICT: Carlton lost his unbeaten record for the James Owen yard when hitting the crossbar in this grade over C&D last month, but that was still a good effort. The five-year-old is only 3lb higher and even a repeat of that display might be good enough to continue his rise through the ranks. Alright Sunshine was behind the selection at Chelmsford prior to finishing fourth in a stronger event at Lingfield last time and could have a say. Night Bear is another to consider.
