VERDICT: Markus (1) could be the answer despite carrying top weight. He has shaped well on all of his starts and is lightly raced with a good bit more to come. He probably has the most to fear from Charismatic Chick (3) who won on her penultimate start at Nimes in mid-November and acquitted herself well in a handicap late last month over 1300m. Eagle Gate (5) is one to respect and he should be on the premises. Close Combat (7) heads the remainder.
