VERDICT: Spartan Times wasn't disgraced in finishing fifth on handicap debut over C&D a fortnight ago and, off a 1lb lower mark, the four-year-old appears to have been found an excellent opportunity to gain a first career success. Northstead Gardens has been running consistently well in recent months and looks to be a leading threat. Pop Noodle didn't have much luck at the start here earlier in the month and may be worth another chance.
