VERDICT: Nells Son has taken his form to a new level this season and he is bound to be popular on the back of edging out subsequent winner Matata at Kelso last month. The 10-year-old could only manage fourth off 14lb lower in this contest last year, though, and preference is for Calico, who finished runner-up 12 months ago off the same mark. Dan Skelton's charge may not be the most consistent, but he showed what he is capable of when scoring at Cheltenham in October. General Medrano and Stormin Crossgales are noted too.
