VERDICT: A tough nut when barefoot and focused, Hede Darling (12) ran 2nd in the Gr.3 Grand Prix de Noel just before Christmas and, following a recent Vincennes prep race, returns barefoot to Cagnes with every chance of bringing home the bacon. Nicolas Bazire will still be keeping a watchful eye on the reconfigured Happy Danica (13) who is back at a more reasonable level having finished last in the Prix de Belgique, and the good dual-discipline Graal Du Tresor (6) who sports a new formula after having lost his action in Paris recently. 4th to Bazire's horse before coming 5th in the Gr.3 Prix de la Cote d'Azur a fortnight ago, Honky Tonk Blues (10) looks thoroughly capable of challenging for a place in the frame.
