VERDICT: King Califet had the race presented to him on a plate when making a winning Rules debut at Newbury and he will need to have improved considerably from that performance to defy a 7lb penalty. With that in mind, Buckna is given the benefit of the doubt after disappointing on the same card Emma Lavelle's gelding was successful at. The five-year-old had shown a fair amount of promise at Ffos Las the time before and anything close to that makes him a big player. Johnny Boy is noted too.
