VERDICT: Pen Portrait will be popular after his successful UAE debut at Sharjah, but this is a lot tougher and an 11lb rise is a big concern. Welcome Dream has strong claims after making all over C&D a month ago. However, he was able to dominate from stall one that day, is 8lb higher here, and has to defy a much wider berth. Gamekeeper may be the most solid proposition following his fine efforts over 7f, but the nod goes to Barq Al Emarat. Ismail Mohammed's gelding was a five-length second to Welcome Dream last time, but is 8lb better off and was badly hampered at the start that day. With more luck in running, the six-year-old could surprise a few of these from a good draw.
