VERDICT: Poetic Jack proved to be disappointing when attempting to follow up a C&D success at Chelmsford. However, the five-year-old, who had been in consistent form prior to that display, is more than capable of leaving the effort behind and is expected to confirm placings with Alshimali from their meeting here at the start of last month. Arlecchino's Gift won off this mark at Wolverhampton in September and it would be no surprise if he bounced back to form.
