VERDICT: The Thames Boatman, who has form that ties in with a few of these, overcame a tardy start to get back to winning ways over C&D in September and, having been tried in deeper races since, he can uphold the form with runner-up Almaty Star and third-placed Mc Loven off just a 3lb higher rating. A previous C&D winner, Diomed Spirit isn't weighted out of this and is another to bear in mind if he attracts support in the betting.
