VERDICT: This race should prove something of an open affair but it would be no surprise to see the well-entered, and reconfigured, Kassoumaye (14) redeeming himself after having faulted early here last month. He is nevertheless going to come under pressure from the likes of barefoot Kent Clark (3) who can make a big splash if Nicolas Ensch keeps him trotting, and a similarly-unshod Kino De Laumiere (6) who has a conditioner under his belt. Kiko Josselyn (7) produced a fast time here 3 weeks ago and merits significant respect.
