VERDICT: Roger Pol backed up his victory at Southwell with a fair third over 2m3f at Doncaster and goes off an unchanged rating. With Gavin Sheehan back on board and the step up in trip a possible source of improvement, he could be the one to beat. Smiling Getaway could only manage a well-held fifth in Listed company at Warwick, but this is an easier assignment and she might have more to offer on only her third chase start. Balkardy isn't out of it either.
