VERDICT: Mark Of Gold stuck to his task and capitalised on his rival's last-fence blunder when making a winning chase bow in a Grade 2 at Ascot 16 days ago. The eight-year-old makes grand appeal now going handicapping over fences and this looks a suitable opportunity for him to complete a brace. The biggest threat may emerge from Lord Of Thunder, who shaped well on his first completed start over fences when finishing fourth at Exeter last month. Classic Anthem is noted too.
