VERDICT: James Ewart trained last year's winner of this race and he runs two today, with Thistle Ask boasting much stronger claims than stablemate Fostered Phil. The former was having his first start over fences when finishing second at Ayr and he can go close if building on that promising effort. C&D winner Mint Gold faced a tougher assignment at Sandown last time and the veteran should fare better in this lower grade, while stable companion Chapel Green scored over this track and trip off 6lb lower in November and could go well again.
