VERDICT: Balhambar was beaten just two lengths into third in a warm handicap at Cheltenham in November and was put up 4lb for that effort. Harry Derham's six-year-old continues to improve and could get his head back in front. Alnilam has filled the runner-up spot on each of his last two starts, most recently at Ascot, and should remain competitive after undergoing wind surgery. Rock House finished a fair third at Huntingdon on his reappearance and completes the shortlist.
