VERDICT: It was soft ground when Scots Poet landed last year's renewal of this contest. He can go well again off his current mark, but the progressive Slugger makes most appeal. He has won both starts since joining Harry Derham's yard, including a cosy success at Doncaster last time. and the hat-trick looks a distinct possibility. Kingston Narcissus built on his earlier placed efforts when landing a maiden hurdle at Sedgefield and should prove competitive now handicapping for the first time.
