VERDICT: In what looks an open affair, Hoe Joly Smoke gets the tentative vote. Dan Skelton's charge stripped fitter for a satisfactory second over 2m4f at Uttoxeter on his seasonal reappearance when fairly bolting up over 3m at Sandown recently and, upped 7lb, this upwardly mobile staying chaser could go in again. Henry's Friend lost little in defeat when fifth in the Coral Gold Cup over C&D last month and, eased 1lb, a bold bid for the gold medal would come as no surprise. Brave Kingdom and Surrey Quest are a couple of others to consider.
