VERDICT: On achievements on the racecourse proper to date, Mossy Way sets the standard. From a stable well accustomed to nurturing young talent, the strength of Mossy Way in the market was telling prior to his debut at Fairyhouse at the beginning of the month. It's likely that the Alkaadhem gelding ran into a potential top-notcher, when yielding by seven lengths to Koktail Brut, but there was certainly something to build on from that runner-up effort. On this occasion, though, a chance is taken on L' Evangeliste. Very positive vibes have emerged from the Eric McNamara camp regarding this French-bred. He was clearly well regarded when housed at the shrewd Donie Murphy point-to-point outfit, and he came up to the mark in decent fashion at Quakerstown on Easter Sunday. Road Exile is another point-to-point scorer to consider.
