    Age 7 CP

ANALYSIS: Held up towards rear but in touch, tracked leaders and going well 3 out, led approaching 2 out, ridden last, all out run-in, just held on
  • 2nd

    Conor Rabbitt

    Age 5

    3/4 L
ANALYSIS: Prominent, ridden after 3 out, chased leaders 2 out, went second before last, chased winner and every chance run-in, just failed

    Ross Chapman

    Age 7 VIS

    3 1/2 L
ANALYSIS: Held up last but in touch, pushed along after 3 out, ridden home turn, chased leaders from 2 out, went third last, kept on but no pace of leading pair run-in

    9 1/2 L
ANALYSIS: Close up early, briefly disputed 4th, not fluent 5th, untidy jump 7th, led 3 out, headed before 2 out, weakened before last, just held on to fourth when pressed final strides
  • 5th

    William Maggs

    Age 10 CP

    neck
ANALYSIS: Towards rear, outpaced and struggling after 3 out, rallied before last, ran on well towards finish, just failed to gain fourth final strides
  • 6th
    5
    Tom Midgley

    Age 7 CP

    5 1/2 L
ANALYSIS: Led, went two lengths clear before 2nd, briefly joined 4th, headed 3 out, weakened quickly after 2 out (routine tested, vet had nothing to report)
VERDICT: Salsada put a Wetherby no-show behind her when comfortably accounting for Punxsutawney Phil over C&D and can confirm that superiority on only 2lb worse terms. The runner-up has since gone one better at Musselburgh, although the biggest threat here could come in the shape of Foster's Fortune, who has been progressing really well over shorter. Harper Valley had to settle for third as favourite behind the selection last time, but it would come as no surprise if he at least closed the gap.
