VERDICT: It took Bass Player 10 attempts to get off the mark on the all-weather but he kept on to score over track and trip last month, despite looking ungainly when asked for effort near the finish. A 2lb higher mark looks fair and he can go well again. However, Equion is the one who appeals most based on recent performances and this previous C&D winner looks the way to go with his yard in good form. Stipulation needs a betting check on his handicap debut.
