VERDICT: Edge Ofthe Unknown made the best possible beginning to his career when winning at Newcastle and he looks a useful prospect. He has to concede 7lb all round and that sways the vote in favour of Frankel colt Pinhole, who got going too late over 7f at Newmarket but still caught the eye and is fancied to step forward. Masubi showed good ability on his first couple of appearances prior to being gelded and fading into sixth at Kempton. He might be able to see his race out better now.
