VERDICT: Valirann Gold caught the eye when finishing a staying-on third over 2m at Lingfield on his seasonal reappearance last month and, with this step back up in trip promising to suit, he gets the nod to score off 1lb lower. Returning C&D winner Captain Claude was running consistently well last term and he must enter calculations stepping back in trip off what looks a manageable mark. Leading Swoop is also noteworthy.
