VERDICT: Soldiers Star lost little in defeat when a short-head second over this trip at Newcastle three weeks ago and natural improvement could see him go one better. That said, Sunlit Uplands and Trouble Man also went desperately close to making winning debuts and they are obvious threats. Rye certainly isn't out of it either having progressed from her first to her second start.
